4 policemen killed, check-post falls in Paktika attack

SHARAN (Pajhwok): Militants have killed four policemen in the Janikhel district of woutheastern Paktika province and captured the check-post, an official said on Thursday.

District Chief Naeem Katawazai confirmed to Pajhwok that four policemen have been killed in the rebels attack on a check-post.

Tribal elder Malak Zahir Khan Katawazai said the insurgents stormed police check-post in the Barlak area on Wednesday night. The assailants captured the check-post and killed four policemen.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed responsibility for the attack and said the Taliban captured police check-post in Janikhel district. Four policemen had been killed during the attack and the Taliban recovered weapons from the post.
