District police chief killed along with guard in Badghis attack

QALA-I-NAW (Pajhwok): The police chief for the Aab-i-Kamari district has been killed along with a bodyguard as a result of a clash in northern Badghis province, an official said on Monday.

An official of the police headquarters, Abdul Hamid, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the militants attacked a security check-post on Sunday night.

He said Maj. Ghulam Rassoul was killed along with another policeman in the Taliban ambush on his way to support security forces.

Hamid added two other policemen and a militant were injured and a tank of the security personnel destroyed during the gunbattle.
