FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): The revenue of western Farah provinces has exceeded the target by four percent, showing a 20 percent hike over the previous fiscal year, an official said on Sunday.
Over 381 million afghanis were collected in Farah in the year that ended on December 22, said Abdul Hadi Bawar, the revenue director, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said the Ministry of Finance (MoF) had set the revenue target for the year at 333.6 million afghanis. But his department collected over 381.5 million afghanis.
Bawar added there was a 20.3 percent increase in the annual revenue compared to the previous year. In 1995 solar year, around 304 million afghanis had been collected.
Custom tariffs, taxes on shops, NGOs, companies, property dealers, private universities and other entities are the main sources of revenue for Farah. The implementation of law helped boost the revenue.
