4 border police personnel killed in Faryab blast

MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Four border policemen were killed and two others injured in a landmine explosion on Maimana-Andkhoi Road in northwestern Faryab province on Tuesday, reliable sources said Tuesday.

The blast took place at around 1:30pm in QarMaqol district when a roadside bomb struck military tank, an official who wished to go unnamed told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The vehicle hit by the bomb was carrying food items and other logistics to security personnel.

Gen. Mohammad Qayyuom, commander of the border police 2nd brigade in Faryab, confirmed the incident and added the two injured policemen had been shifted to a hospital in Andkhoi. Ali did not speak about the loss of four policemen.

Meanwhile, according to Faryab police four Taliban were killed and three others injured in airstrike in Almar district.
