MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Two juvenile inmates have fled the main correctional centre in the capital of northwestern Faryab province, police said on Monday.
Habibullah and Fareed -- both under 18 years of age -- had been jailed on rape and robbery charges. They fled the facility on Sunday midnight.
A statement from the police headquarters said four policemen had been detained in connection with the escape. But it not explain how the escape took place.
Two years ago, two individuals arrested in connection with planting a landmine in Maimana had escaped from the centre to join the Taliban.
