MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Ousted Balkh Governor Atta Mohammad Noor has warned of using Hairatan Port revenue to meet government institutions’ expenses in northern Balkh province.
Addressing his supporters at the governor’s house, Noor lashed out at the UN over staying silent over the non-implementation of the National Unity Government (NUG).
The head of the Jamiat-i-Islami and not allow the war-torn country to plunge into a new turmoil and crisis.
He added the UN had endorsed the NUG deal and should not remain silent over its non –implementation. He said he would remain governor until a political settlement reached with him.
He did not name anyone but added some circles through conspiracies wanted the most secure province of the country to be destabilized.
Earlier, the Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG) said Noor’s signature had no formality and no provincial official would be granted salary over his signature.
“I want to tell the IDLG to speak within its limits, in future they have no right to speak about me. I am the governor and my signature is valid in all offices of Balkh.” He told ministers: “I challenge you to come and create problems for me.”
Noor has been issuing stern warnings to the government after his removal, but the Presidential Palace is yet to react.
