TALUQAN (Pajhwok): An Afghan National Army (ANA) helicopter has performed an emergency landing in Darqad district of northern Takhar province, an official said on Saturday.
The Darqad district chief, Saifuddin Mushtaq, told Pajhwok Afghan News the copter made the emergency landing in Basirkhelo locality on Saturday afternoon. No one was hurt in the incident, he said.
Mushtaq said security forces had a launched military offensive in Mawara-i-Kokcha area.
Two helicopters arrived in the area as part of the ongoing offensive with one making the emergency landing due to technical faults in the area under government control.
The district chief said security forces had arrived in the area and launched work on the copter.
However, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed the copter was shot down by the fighters, killing all security personnel onboard.
