ASADABAD (Pajhwok): The bodyguard Walayat Khan Mushwani, head of Provincial Council (PC) for eastern Kunar province, has been killed in a landmine blast, an official said on Saturday.
Mushwani told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in the Shultan district on Friday afternoon.
He said his bodyguard was on his way to mosque for Jumma prayer when a roadside mine blew up on him. A passerby was also injured in the blast, he added.
Police confirmed the incident while there was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast.
