CHARIKAR with northern part of the country, has been blocked for traffic as a result of heavy snowfall, an official said on Monday.
Lt. Gen. Mohammad Rajab, the highway maintenance commander, told Pajhwok Afghan News the road was closed after an incessant snowfall late on Sunday night.
He said the highway was hit by at least 10 avalanches since Sunday night. The snowfall has started last Friday and was still continued and reached to 126 centimeters in southern and 145 in northern parts of Salang . . .
