KABUL (Pajhwok): The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has resumed its diplomatic mission in capital Kabul and the country is all set to send a new ambassador soon, an official said Wednesday.
Sadique Amarkhel, cultural attaché at the Afghanistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Emirati diplomats had already arrived in Kabul and had started their duties.
He said Afghanistan and the UAE enjoyed strong brotherly and historic relations.
He hoped economic ties and counter-terrorism cooperation between the two countries would further flourish in near future.
Last year, the UAE closed its diplomatic mission in Kabul after a tanker bombing in Zambaq Square in Kabul.
German and UAE diplomatic mission are also located close to the blast site. At least 90 people were killed and over 400 injured in the deadliest bombing.
