President Ghani: Afghanistan has secure future

KABUL’s bright future is guaranteed and the situation will improve with the launch of national and regional projects.

A statement from the Presidential Palace said Ghani met teachers, students and public representatives in Herat province on Saturday night.

He once again congratulated the nation on the beginning of work on the Afghanistan section of TAPI gas pipeline project, saying problems of Herat being an important province would be resolved with public support.

Construction work on the Afghan section of the multibillion dollars natural gas pipeline– linking energy-rich Turkmenistan to Pakistan and India — got under way on Friday.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by President Ghani, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and India’s Minister of State for External Affairs MJ Akbar.

Afghan and Turkmen leaders also inaugurated work on the construction of the railway link between the Central Asian countries.

Ghani told his interlocutors last night: “The survival of Afghanistan is guaranteed by emerging regional economic cooperation, significant progress on national and regional projects and the changing location of the country.”

“Clear and fundamental motivation is needed, and my promise is not to a single person, family or party but to all people of Afghanistan,” he said.

Ghani stressed the need for strengthening fundamental reforms in universities, saying the Humanitarian High Council would find a suitable solution to these problems to boost the quality of education in the country.
