Armed robbers loot Uruzgan mines department

TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Armed robbers stole a vehicle and other materials from the Mines and Petroleum Department of central Uruzgan province last night, an official said on Thursday.

Mohammad Naib, the provincial governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the robbers stole a Hailux model vehicle and some other materials from inside the Mines and Petroleum department on Wednesday night. However, he did not provide more details.

The Mines and Petroleum Department is located close to the National Directorate of Security (NDS)’s special unit in Tirinkot, the provincial capital.

Provincial deputy police chief, Abdul Qawi Omari confirmed the incident but did not provide information about what materials were looted from the department.
