HERAT CITY/FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): One person was killed and 32 other including children and women were wounded in two separate accidents in western Herat and northeastern Badakhshan provinces, officials said on Saturday.
Jilani Farhad, the Herat governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News a mini-bus overturned in the Imam-Shash Noor locality of Herat City, the provincial capital, late on Friday night.
Mohammad Rafiq Sherzai, Herat Zonal Hospital’s spokesman, said the incident occurred when the bus was on the way from Herat to Iran the border. He said 10 children and 17 women were among the 28 wounded.
Elsewhere, a Suzuki car veered off the road in Badakhshan province, Traffic Director Maj. Hafizi said. The ill-fated car was heading from Khash district to Faizabad.
He added a man was killed and four other were wounded, he said, adding the injured were in stable condition.
