Woman commits suicide in Jawzjan

SHEBERGHAN (Pajhwok): An 18-year-old woman in northern Jawzjan province has committed suicide by shooting herself to death, an official said on Monday.

Governor Spokesman Mohammad Raza Ghafoori, told Pajhwok Afghan News the woman who committed suicide originally hailed from Sar-i-Pul province and currently lived in the Sakhiabad village of Sherberghan, the provincial capital.

The woman got married one year back and had no child.

Ghafoori added the cause of the suicide could not be ascertained yet, adding the family members got aware of the incident when they heard the sound of fire and subsequently rushed to the room where they woman was found dead.

Investigation into the incident had been launch while no arrest was made so far.

But Maghfirat Samimi, head of the provincial human rights office said something might had cause the incident and asked the security official to disclose the reason behind the incident.
