KABU (Pajhwok): Police killed about 13, 600 militants, wounded 5, 900 and captured alive another 2, 100 in 5,500 joint and independent raids during the outgoing year, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said on Tuesday.
In these raids, police defused 4, 200 landmines, captured 18, 00 different types of weapons, 131 vehicles and 172 walkie-talkies and detained 27, 000 people, said MoI spokesman Najib Danish.
He told reporters here that during the period police had detained nine suicide bombers before reaching their targets.
