CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): The construction of a canal irrigating hundreds of acres of land has been completed in central Parwan province, an official said on Thursday.

The canal, 1,500 metres in length, had been constructed to modern standards in the limits of Tatam Dara area, said the agriculture, irrigation and livestock director.

Abdul Kabir Farzam told Pajhwok Afghan News the project costing 11.7 million afghanis was funded by his department.

Farzam said about 3,000 families would benefit of the scheme, which would irrigate hundreds of acres of land.
