Would-be suicide bomber detained in Gardez: NDS

KABUL in Gardez, the capital of southeastern Paktia province, the spy service said on Thursday.

In a statement, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) identified the detainee as Raza Khan -- alias Wafadar. The arrest came during a special operation by intelligence personnel.

The detainee had confessed to receiving terrorist training in the Tal area of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and planning a suicide attack in Gardez, the statement added.
