Attempts at grabbing 13,000 acres land prevented last year

KABUL.

MoJ spokesman Mohammad Aman Reyazat told a press conference here that thousands of acres of grabbed land in capital Kabul and provinces had been recovered by the ministry’s restoration team last solar year.

However, he did not provide further details about the recovery but said 26,000 acres were recovered in northern Balkh province alone.

Some figures had been attempting to grab 13,000 acres of government land in different provinces, but the MoJ and courts deciding in favor of the government prevented the land’s usurpation, he said.

The ministry also prevented usurpation of two government apartments, 171 million afghanis and 13,000 Euros, Reyazat said.

Cases and attempts pertaining land grabbing and its prevention would be decided by a special court in future, part of the Justice Ministry’s reform plan, he said.

According the Afghanistan Land Authority (ALA), around 131,000 acres of land is usurped countrywide.
