Senior MoI official referred to AGO over power abuse

KABUL (Pajhwok): The head of Serious Crime Branch department at the Ministry of Interior (MoI)  has been referred to the Attorney General Office (AGO) over charges of authority misuse, a reliable government source said Saturday.

Abdul Ghaiur Andarabi was referred to the AGO in compliance with orders from the Presidency, said the source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity and denied more details.

A well-placed source at the AGO office also confirmed Andarabi case had been referred to the AGO office and he had been accused of misuse of his authority.

MoI, however, did not provide information about Andarabi referral to the AGO for investigation.
