American soldier killed in combat operation

 KABUL, the US military said on Tuesday.

Several Afghan security personnel were also killed or wounded in Monday’s operation, a statement from the US Forces-Afghanistan (USFOR-A) said.

“My thoughts and those of US Forces-Afghanistan are with the families and friends of our fallen and wounded service members,” said America’s top commander in the counry.

Gen. John Nicholson added: “Their valiancy in battle and that of the brave Afghan partners they fought alongside will endure in our hearts and history.”

The wounded soldier, who is in stable condition, was taken to Bagram Airfield’s hospital for treatment. However, the exact time and place of incident did not mention in the statement.

In 2018, at least three US troops have been killed in Afghanistan.
