ZARANJ (Pajhwok): At least five policemen and two Taliban insurgents have been killed during a clash in the Khashrod district of southwestern Nimroz province, an official said on Monday.
The district’s administrative chief, Nida Mohammad, told Pajhwok Afghan News the rebels stormed security a check-post in Shash Aba locality.
During the overnight attack in the area on the Zaranj-Dilaram highway, five police personnel were killed and as many wounded, the official said.
He added the injured policemen were evacuated to the main provincial hospital. The Taliban have not yet commented on the incident.
