TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Four security personnel and 14 Taliban insurgents have been killed as a result of clashes in central Uruzgan province, an official said on Tuesday.
Aminullah Khaliqi, Chora district administrative chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants stormed several security check-posts in the district late on Monday night.
He said four security men and 14 fighters were killed while six policemen and 11 rebels were wounded in firefights.
According to Khaliqi, civilians suffered no casualties during the overnight clashes. The Taliban have not yet commented on the situation.
