KABUL here on Thursday announced closing all schools and colleges in western Farah province.

The ministry’s decision is driven by the worsening security environment in the province, where the insurgents launched fresh attacks in parts of Farah City last night.

In a statement, the ministry said the schools and teaching centres would stay shut till the situation improved. The step has been taken to protect, students and teachers.

The provincial education department was directed to wait for further orders from the central government on reopening the educational institutes. The schools are likely to stay closed during Ramadan.
