BAMYAN (Pajhwok): Snowfall over the past two days has damaged some 200 homes in central Bamyan and Maidan Wardak provinces, officials said on Sunday.
Bamyan natural disasters management authority director Mohammad Reza Rafat told Pajhwok Afghan News that snowfall and heavy flood had damaged crops in four districts.
He said around one hundred of animals perished in the flooding. A delegation has been dispatched to the affected areas for survey.
Rafat added five to 10 centimeter snowfall fell in Punjab, Yakawlang, Kahmard, Saighan and some other parts of Bamyan province.
Mohammad Hussain, a resident of Punjab district, said snowfall for two days harmed all vegetables and crops.
Separately in Maidan Wardak province, Hussain Ali Balegh, a member of the provincial council, told Pajhwok that the Behsud district received 20 centimeter of snow during the past two days, making it hard to drive.
He said the snowfall had also affected people and crops in the province.
