MAIMANA (Pajhwok): A coordinated Taliban attack on the Khwaja Sabzposh district of northwestern Faryab province has been beaten back by security forces, officials said on Monday.
Abdullah Masoomi, the district administrative chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News that a large number of militants launched the assault on Sunday night.
He said two security check-posts were controlled by the insurgents for some time. The rebels came close to the district centre but were pushed back by the security personnel.
