GAREZ (Pajhwok): Gunmen attacked a police convoy carrying a Taliban prisoner in southeastern Paktia province, leaving five people dead including the prisoner and a civilian, an official said on Monday.
The police vehicle was shifting the key Taliban prisoner from Aryub Zazi district to Gardez, the provincial capital, when came under attack from Taliban militants in Shashti locality of Ahmadkhel district, the governor’s spokesman said.
Abdullah Hassrat told Pajhwok Afghan News the prisoner, one civilian, one policeman and two militants were killed in the ensuing clash . . .
