PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Top security advisors from Pakistan and Afghanistan call peace their common goal and the biggest need of the hour.
The national security advisers agreed peace could be achieved through sincere implementation of the Afghanistan-Pakistan Action Plan for Peace and Solidarity (APAPPS).
During a meeting at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad on Sunday, Hanif Atmar and Nasser Khan Janjua led their respective delegations.
The Afghan team included Interior Minister Wais Barmak, National Directorate of Security (NDS) chief Masoom Stanikzai and Ambassador Omar Zakhilwal.
The two sides held an in-depth exchange of views on matters pertaining to bilateral cooperation as well as the regional security situation. Their focus was on timely implementation of the recently agreed APAPPS.
Janjua reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening multifaceted cooperation with Afghanistan in all spheres of mutual interest, including political, diplomatic, military, intelligence, trade, cultural and people-to-people contacts.
