KABUL, or lower house of parliament, from northwestern Jawzjan province has died of heart failure, her family said on Saturday.
Syed Mohibullah Sadat, a brother of the lawmaker, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Fahima Sadat died as a result of a heart attack at a Mazar-i-Sharif hospital on Friday night.
On Wednesday, the legislator had received registration forms to contest the upcoming Wolesi Jirga elections. She was issued the documents by the Independent Election Commission’s Jawzjan chapter.
