KABUL (Pajhwok): Ahead of the T20 series against Bangladesh, Afghan skipper Asghar Stanikzai feels excited about Dehradun emerging as yet another home ground for his side
“It feels great to be in Dehradun. Sharjah and Greater Noida have been our home grounds as well and now we have Dehradun,” he was quoted as saying on Saturday.
Speaking to Sportskeeda, Stanikzai the venue looked like Afghanistan, with mountains surrounding the stadium.
He also hailed the Indian board’s decision to let Afghanistan play practice matches against the teams visiting the sub-continental country.
“It’s great news for Afghanistan cricket … it is also great for the people of Afghanistan, as they really love the game. Special thanks to the BCCI for this announcement,” he remarked.
The Afghanistan Cricket Board chief executive believed it would a good opportunity for them to play many matches, gain exposure and exhibit their skills.
“It’s a very good opportunity for us. For the time being, we have two grounds, Dehradun and also Greater Noida, we’re considering both. We’ll be playing on both the grounds,” Shafiq Stanikzai said.
