HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Fifteen members o an uprising group have been killed by Taliban in Badghis province, local officials said on Friday.
The insurgents stormed checkpoints of pro-government fighters in Aab-i-Kamari districts before dawn, a member of the Badghis provincial council said.
Mohammad Nasir Nazari told Pajhwok Afghan News the attacks left 15 members of the uprising force dead. A subsequent attack on funeral for the victims killed two civilians.
Haji Saleh Bek, the district’s administrative chief, confirmed the predawn attacks. He said 16 pro-government fighters were killed. The assailants escaped before warplanes reached the scene.
