2 Afghan soldiers, 5 Taliban killed in the east

JALALABAD/ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Two Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers and five Taliban militants have been killed in separate incident of violence in eastern Laghman and Kunar provinces, officials said on Sunday.

Sherin Agha Faqiri, spokesman for the ANA’s 201th Selab Military Corps, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the militants coordinately stormed a security check-post in Alishang district of Laghman late on Sunday night.

However, the security forces suffered no casualties in the attack that left five Taliban militants dead and another two wounded, he said.

Elsewhere, two ANA soldiers were killed in a roadside bombing in Narai district of Kunar province, police spokesman Faridullah Dehqan told Pajhwok.

The Taliban have so far said nothing about these incidents.
