KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Twelve Taliban militants have been eliminated during an airstrike by foreign forces in the Maroof district of southern Kandahar province, an official said on Monday.
Police spokesman Zia Durrani told Pajhwok Afghan News the foreign forces’ raid targeted a Ranger pickup carrying the insurgents in the Kalawamado locality of the district late on Sunday night.
He said 12 Taliban were killed and their local commander injured in the incident. Civilians suffered no causalities during the airstrike, he concluded.
