HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Two 28-megawatt turbines are being activated at the Salma hydropower dam to somehow address the electricity shortage problem in western Herat province, officials said Saturday.
Jilani Farhad, the governor’s spokesman, told in a press conference here that the decision to install two turbines reached between the Ministry of Energy and Water, the Afghanistan Breshna Shirkat and provincial officials.
The Breshna Shirkat chief on Thursday said two turbines would be activated on Salma dam to address the electricity crisis.
