KABUL (MoPH) and a UAE-based firm BRS on Tuesday signed an agreement on equipping two hospitals and advancing healthcare services on regional level.
The memorandum of understanding was signed between Public Helath Minister Firozoddin Firoz and the BRS representatives here on Tuesday.
Under the agreement, the BRS plans to equip Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan and Sheikh Zayed hospitals with high level medical equipment, machinery and specialists in order Afghan patients are prevented from going abroad for treatment, minister Firoz said.
He added the BRS would also provide personnel in order to install the equipment and they would train hospital staff as well.
The minister also said a medicine company which had been inactive for 30 years was activated in cooperation with the Ministry Finance and particularly with BRS.
In the first phase, the company would provide medicines inside the country and in the second to foreign countries.
Mohammad Hamayun Qaiumi, acting finance minister, at the signing ceremony said the medicine company would provide high standard drugs to the countermen.
