LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Fifteen Taliban militants, including a suicide bomber, have been killed and nine others wounded during clearing operations in southern Helmand province, officials said on Tuesday.
Nawab Shah Zadran, deputy spokesman for the 215th Maiwand Military Corps, told Pajhwok Afghan News the security forces conducted the operations in Greshk and Dagian districts.
He said seven Taliban insurgents had been so far killed and three others wounded. A rocket, two Kalashnikovs, two walkie-talkies, weapons and seven kilograms of opium were seized by the security forces.
Meanwhile, police spokesman Abdul Salaam said five insurgents, including a suicide attacker, had been killed and four others wounded in Nada Ali district.
Separately, three militants were killed and two others wounded during a clash. At least three rebel hideouts were destroyed in Garmser district.
