PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Afghan students have been awarded certificates on completing the Zero Semester Programme at a leading institute in Pakistan’s northwestern city of Peshawar.

The certificate-awarding ceremony was followed by a farewell dinner for the Afghan students at the Institute of Management Sciences (IMSciences) in the posh neighbourhood of Hayatabad.

Funded by the Pakistan government, the Zero Semester Programme is aimed at improving literacy rate in the neighbouring country, a statement from the institute said.

Higher Education Commission Director Jehanzeb Khan, Acting Director of IMSciences Dr Iftikharul Amin and faculty members attended the ceremony.

The acting director reminded the Afghan students of their joyful time spent at IMSciences and wished them luck in their future endeavours.
