JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The remains of an Afghan National Army (ANA) soldier, Mohammad Omar who hugged a suicide bomber and rescued scores of other people, was laid to rest in Mehterlam, the capital of eastern Laghman province, on Monday.
While on duty in Jalalabad, the capital of neighboring Nangarhar province, Omar and his two colleagues were killed on Sunday when he hugged a suicide bomber and took him away.
Friend, colleagues and villagers, who attended Omar’s funeral in his ancestral village, said they were saddened over Omar’s death but felt proud over his bravery . . .
