5 of a family killed in Takhar mortar strike

TALOQAN (Pajhwok): Five members of a family were killed and as many wounded when a mortar shell landed on their home in Dashti Qala district of northeastern Takhar province on Monday, an official said.

Mohammad Jawad Hejri, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident occurred in Kakal locality of the district on Monday afternoon.

He said five members of a family, including women militants.

However, the Taliban have not yet commented about the incident.
