PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Five Afghan citizens have been detained on murder charges in the capital of Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, police said on Sunday.
Haji Ahmad, Aziz, Rafiullah, Ahmad and Hashmat were detained while planning to escape to Afghanistan, Faqirabad police said. But their attempt was thwarted and a case registered against them.
The Afghan nationals allegedly beat 25-year-old Gul Rehman, a resident of the Yousufabad locality of Peshawar, following an exchange of harsh words on Saturday.
Police said the Afghans hit Gul Rehman with batons and fists. The man was taken to a city hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
