Farhad Hashimi, deputy crime branch chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News that NDS agent Dadullah was gunned down by unknown assailants on his way to Bagram district on Tuesday.
No arrest had been made in connection with the murder, the police official said. There has been no claim of responsibility for the killing so far, but investigations are underway.
Separately, the body of a 25-year-old man was fished out of Salang River. The man’s identity was yet to be known, said Hashimi. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
Also on Tuesday, a student named Mohammad Zaki was shot dead by his neighbour after a verbal clash in the Tajikan area of Jabalus Saraj district, the district’s administrative chief said.
Abdul Shakoor Qudusi said police had detained one individuals and a search was ongoing for other accused.
