‘Court verdict not being implemented on Paikan’

KABUL (Pajhwok): The family members of slain youth killed by the son of Gen. Zmarai Paikan two years back said the government has been failed to implement the court decision on Paikan and warned against blocking the Kabul-Parwan road if court verdict no implemented.

According to Pajhwok Afghan News report the government hired 20 security guards to Paikan instead of implementing the court verdict on him

Gen. Paikan, former commander of Public Order Police, was awarded eight years and six months imprisonment over involvement in a murder and misuse of authority. Eight more people were also awarded imprisonment from one year to eight by the primary court Criminal Justice Task Force (CJTF).

Ten months had passed since the court decision but according to the Attorney General Office the case has not completed the necessary procedure and even Paikan has not been arrested.

Raees Omaid Nizami, the brother of Suhrab Nizami who was killed by the bodyguards of Gen. Zmari Paikan and his son in the Sara-i-Shamali area of Kabul back in 2016, alleged the government over its failure to implement the court verdict on Gen. Paikan.

He told reporters here: “The government instead of arresting Paikan provided him with security guards and weapons to threaten us.”

He questioned which law described that a murderer should be given with weapons.

Gul Dad Nizami, the uncle of slain Suhrab, said: “It is surprising that the army chief provided security guards to Paikan,”

“Give us 48 hours we will unearth Paikan from a hideout,” he said, refusing the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Interior’s claim about his disappearance.
