KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): Seven Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers and 15 Taliban have been killed during a clash in the Qala-i-Zal district of northern Kunduz province, an official said on Monday.
District Police Chief 1st Lt. Safdar Ali told Pajhwok Afghan News the Taliban stormed ANA check-posts in the Aqepai locality on Sunday night and the clash continued till early morning on Monday.
Currently, there was no fighting and the situation was under control.
The Provincial Council Member Toryal Karkar told Pajhwok Afghan News the check post attacked by the insurgent was situated in a short distance from the district centre and district police centre.
The Taliban also confirmed the clash in Qala-i-Zal district, the group’s Spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said six ANA soldiers killed and three arrested during the attack.
In the past the Taliban captured the Qala-i-Zal district and the many areas were still in their hands.
