KABUL (Pajhwok): A delegation headed by deputy foreign minister is leaving for Moscow tomorrow (Thursday) to discuss a postponed meeting on peace process, an official said Wednesday.

An Afghan diplomat in Moscow on Wednesday told media that the delegation headed by deputy foreign minister, Hekmat Khalil Karzai would discuss the agenda of a delay meeting about the peace process and some other important issues.

On the other hand, Hekmat Khalil Karzai met with Russian envoy to Afghanistan, Alexander Mantytskiy today here in Kabul.

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) received by Pajhwok Afghan News said that both sides discussed about bilateral issues and the Afghan envoy’s trip to Moscow.

Russia had planned a meeting about the Afghan peace process in Moscow on September 4. Russia invited Taliban and representatives from 12 countries to attend the meeting.

However, the Afghan government and the United States did not attend the meeting and even opposed it.

Two weeks back, Russian foreign minister in a telephone contact with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani had announced the postponement of the possible meeting.
