PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will not allow players currently playing domestic or international cricket to participate in the Afghan Premier League (APL).
Only retired cricketers would be issued with any no objection certificate (NOC) for taking part in APL, which would commence from October 5, a well-placed source in PCB told Pajhwok Afghan News.
In-action players have already been communicated the decision, said a board official, who did not want to be named. In line with the decision, ex-skipper Shahid Afridi will be the only Pakistani player taking part in the league.
The official added cricketers, including Wahab Riaz, Sohail Tanvir, Mohammad Irfan, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Hafeez, Kamran Akmal and Iftikhar Ahmed would not be part of the event.
