KABUL’s commander for the Salang district of central Parwan province has been killed along with two associates, an official said on Saturday.
Noor Aqa Same, Siagard district’s administrative chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News dozens of insurgents stormed a security check-post, but they were pushed back.
Qari Manaf, the Taliban military commander for Salang, was killed along with two other militants, he said. Five attackers were wounded in retaliatory fire from the security personnel.
The Taliban have not yet commented on the incident, which occurred late on Friday night.
