KABUL under-19 side beat Nepal by three wickets in their second group match of the ongoing Asia Cup tournament.
Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka Bangladesh, Nepal, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Hong Kong and Afghanistan are featuring in the Asia Cup being played in Bangladesh.
The teams are divided into two groups, with Afghanistan in group A with India, Nepal and the UAE are while Hong Kong, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are placed in Group B.
Afghanistan played their second 50-over game of the tournament against Nepal today (Monday) and beat the rivals by three wickets.
Nepal won the toss and decided to bat first, but they were not good enough with the bat and were all out for 131 in the 30th over and set Afghanistan 132 runs target to achieve.
The Afghans put up an excellent show with the ball as Azmatullah Umarzai grabbed four wickets; Qais Ahmad and Abdul Rahman shared two wickets apiece.
Afghan batsmen were also shaky chasing the small total and reached the target in 38th over. Rahmanullah Greez scored 27, Azmatullah and Aref Khan scored 23 runs each.
Umrzai was declared the man of the match for his excellent all-round performance.
The Afghanistan U-19 side will play their last group match against India.
