KABUL (Pajhwok): Ahmad Shoaib Rahim has been appointed as acting mayor of Kabul City in compliance with a presidential decree.
Rahim previously served as deputy financial and administrative chief at the Kabul municipality.
Mohammad Haroon Chakhansory, spokesman to the Presidential Palace, confirmed the news to Pajhwok Afghan News and said President Ashraf Ghani had appointed Ahmad Shoaib Rahim as Kabul acting mayor.
Former mayor Abdullah Habibzai resigned from his position last month after serving for three years.
