Zakhilwal, Afridi confer on easing people’s travel

PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The Afghan ambassador says he has held candid talks with Pakistan’s Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi.

Dr. Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal tweeted after Tuesday’s meeting in Islamabad he had held a “delightful conversation” with the deputy minister.

"Today had a delightful conversation with Pak State Min for Interior, energetic & foresighted PTI leader @ShehryarAfridi1,” he wrote.

The two sides agreed on immediate steps to ease the flow of people at all crossing points, Zakhilwal said, adding he was looking forward to constructive future engagements.

The minister said the neighbours shared strong cultural and historical bonds. He expressed the resolve to continue efforts for regional peace and stability.

Pakistan and Afghanistan would have to work together for confidence-building and removing misconceptions for the well-being of the people, Afridi was quoted as saying by APP.
