KABUL (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani has met with visiting Secretary General of the Islamic Military Alliance to Fight Terrorism (IMAFT) Gen. Abdulelah bin Usman Al Saleh and both the sides discussed anti-terrorism efforts, a statement said on Thursday.
The statement from the Presidential Palace to Pajhwok Afghan News said that the two leaders talked about fighting terrorism, preventing financial sources of terrorists, military cooperation and an Afghan-owned and Afghan-led peace process during the meeting.
IMAFT Secretary General Gen. Abdullah Bin Usman Al Saleh said the military coalition would not hesitate from making every effort at fighting terrorism and extending cooperation with the Afghan people in this regard.
President Ashraf Ghani appreciated the Afghan security forces for fighting on the frontline against terrorism and termed IMAFT’s role as important in the counter terrorism area.
The statement from the Presidential Palace provided no details about the date and place of the meeting.
