PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): The Independent Election Commission (IEC)’s regional office in central Logar province on Saturday said election materials were yet to reach four polling stations in the province.
Abdul Rahman Muhabat, IEC head for Logar, said due to some issues, elections materials could not reach Barki Rajan area of Barak-i-Barak district, Maulana Yaqoob area of Charkh district and Dobandi area of Khoshi district.
He said due to Taliban threats people did not vote in ten others polling stations in the province. The electoral official said they had shared the issue with security officials.
Zahidullah, a resident of Dobandi area of Khoshi district, said 4000 individuals in their area had registered as voters but election materials were yet to reach the polling station.
Meanwhile, Zubiar, a resident of Baraki Rajan locality of Barak-i-Barak district, told Pajhwok that they could not cast their votes due to lack of election materials.
Shamshad Larwai, the governor’s spokesman, said the issue had been shared with security officials and efforts were underway to resolve it.
